One world, many lives
There is no "right" way to play. Be a fighter, a master artisan, a pet tamer, or all three: every path earns gold, makes your hunter stronger and helps your guild. Switch whenever you like.
Master a profession and live from your craft.
✦ Mix them freely: a fighter sells dungeon loot, an artisan forges gear for the guild war, a tamer brings a strong companion into every fight.

A taste of it
Fight titans and dungeons, spend your stat points, earn your class's Mythic set.
Crack each beast's combination first: its rarity is a surprise until it's yours.
Pair two pets, hatch the egg, level them in the den and send them on errands.
Sell pets, gear and materials to other players, or snap up a bargain.
Find seeds on the map, grow crops in your garden, turn them into pet treats.
Forge, brew, sew or carve runes: one main profession up to grandmaster.
Decorate your Hunter Hut inside and out, with your pets wandering around.
The game
Every foe telegraphs its move: Strike, Ward or Mend at the right time. Each class has a signature move, once per fight.
Five regions, twenty lands of five levels each, and the Fractured Maw in the centre, held by the strongest guild.
Pick your path room by room: traps, events, shrines, elites, secret rooms, down to the boss. Solo on the web, or 4 friends voting in Discord.
Master one craft. Smiths, jewellers, alchemists, runecarvers, relicbinders and beastmasters need each other's work.
Your guild scores in every land it fights and gathers in. Hold a land for a week, tax the others, take the crown of the Maw.
Beasts slip into the channel. Crack their combination first and they become your companion.

Six Halloween Riftborn you can only catch during the event, a fixed weekly calendar and the Saturday Riftborn Rush.
Bet on live league matches with odds from the pets' stats, sell on the market by auction, and earn a permanent bonus for every species you collect.

About
Atherea is a free MMORPG where one hunter lives in two places: fight with friends in Discord, then keep playing on this website from your phone or PC. Hunt colossal Rift Titans, clear 100 levels of dungeons, level a class from Warrior to legendary node, craft gear with seven professions and join a guild for raids, wars and territories.
Collect pets: catch wild Riftborn by reading their clues, raise them in the Sanctuary, send them on errands and breed two pets into a brand new cross. Then take them into pet battles in the Pet Training, a turn-based duel where Pounce beats Feint, Feint beats Guard and Guard beats Pounce.

Yes. Atherea is free to play. The shop sells cosmetics only, with no power and no loot boxes.
Your pet charges a spark every round and uses its Aspect special at three sparks. Pounce beats Feint, Feint beats Guard and Guard beats Pounce, in the Pet Training, against wild Riftborn or against other players.
A Riftborn slips into the Discord channel every 20 to 40 minutes. Read its clues, choose its Aspect, bait and approach to catch it, then breed two pets level 5 or higher to hatch a brand new cross.
Yes. The website works in any browser on phone or PC, and the Discord bot works on every device, so you can switch between them at any time.
